Data erased
Our process conforms to the WEEE directive for recycling, but not until we have eliminated any possibility of residual data remaining on the hard drive. We start by using degaussing equipment to erase the hard drive, then take the items to our approved, secure recovery facility.
Secure collection
Your failed IT equipment will be collected by our security cleared engineer, and transported in secure metal cages, double-locked inside our GPS-tracked vehicle, to our recovery specialist.
Evaluation
Our specialist will examine the disk and evaluate the chances of recovering the data, with our security cleared personnel remaining with the disk throughout the process. We will then report back, keeping the equipment in a secure facility while you decide whether you want to proceed.
Recovery
If you give us the go-ahead, the recovery specialist will burn the data onto a new disk. We will dispose of the original hard drive in accordance with CESG Manual S and IS5 regulations, and the WEEE directive. Our security cleared personnel will be present throughout the process, ensuring that the data is not duplicated or backed-up. We will then courier the IT equipment back to you, using the same secure transport process as before.
Delivery
Turnaround is rapid; the initial evaluation should not take more than 48 hours and the recovery stage should be completed in 72 hours, meaning you can have your IT equipment and data returned in five days or less.
Guaranteed security
We will keep you informed throughout the operation, and ensure that the sensitive data is always guarded by our security personnel or secured in an approved facility. It is never left alone with the specialist recovery, even though we use a trusted contractor who has proved completely dependable.
Approved and trusted
We are regularly used by HM Government and its contractors, the MoD, law enforcement organisations and the NHS, for dealing with their protectively marked, sensitive media.
