Unique certification
We are the only company with CESG CTM certification for a complete managed secure data disposal service, on or off-site, up to and including HM Government TOP SECRET (IL6), and in full compliance to CESG Manual S and HMG IS5.
Data erased
Our process conforms to the WEEE directive for recycling, but not until we have eliminated any possibility of residual data remaining on the hard drive. We start by using degaussing equipment to erase the hard drive, then take the items to our approved secure data disposal facility.
Secure transport
Even though there is now little chance of data remaining on the end of life equipment, we do not take chances. During transport, it's carried in security sealed cages by a GPS-tracked vehicle, accompanied by security cleared staff.
Complete destruction to constituent materials
Following data disposal at our secure facility, the IT equipment is completely broken down to its base material. Metal is smelted, plastic is chipped and PCBs are stripped of copper and solder. The WEEE directive calls for a 65% reduction in IT equipment going for landfill, but we aim for 90% recycling.
Audit trail
Every secure data destruction we carry out has its own audit trail. Each hard disk is scanned before the data is erased, and labeled with the details of the date, time, serial number and operator involved. This can then be checked back to verify that the disk is destroyed. You're also welcome to inspect the process if you wish.
